the lord’s prayer

I wrote this during our Re:Discover service last night. Basically a personalization of how Jesus taught us to pray:
“God…Father…you are so amazing. I know so little of your perfection, but what I do know is worth my whole life. That you would desire an intimacy with me is beynd my comprehension. You want this world to be very different; you want to see here what you see in heaven. God, I want that too, and I am captivated by the idea that you think it is possible. What part can I play? I do not need everything that I think I do. But God, I trust that you will give me all the courage, insight, patience, judgement, and peace that I need. I love new starts. i love fresh beginnings and clean slates. I love that no matter what muck-heap we find our life in, that God says “well, I’m here, I am faithful to what I say, so how can i redeem this?”
So, amid the breathtaking explosion of flowers, leaves, buds, and warmth that springtime offers, we can see His divine power to bring new life and His eternal nature toward renewal and refreshing. And then He sent Jesus.
